She has been practicing the discipline of Yoga since her first introduction in 1998. Curiosity and a love for making fitness fun, led her to this first class, but this was only the beginning.

Soon after, a strong urging for deeper studies surfaced and she began the quest into Hindu/yogic philosophy, to practice various styles of Hatha Yoga such as Ashtanga, Iyengar, Bikram, Anusara, Power, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa Flow and Kripalu. Chay has worked alongside Steve Ross, creator of Oxygen channel’s INHALE yoga class and owner of the popular MAHA Yoga studio in Brentwood,CA. She was introduced and initiated into Vedic Meditation by Thom Knoles, world’s foremost instructor of Vedic Meditation outside of India. Chay’s intentions as a teacher are to be compassionate, empowering and inspiring. She works to create a safe and fun environment where students can explore flowing with breath, freedom of movement, learning to listen to, honor, and to respect their own body just as it is. She works to guide her students through their individual journey into finding their divinity, that original state of peace & happiness within themselves. Most recently, Chay is working with the power of music and sound, sharing her passion of Bhakti Yoga adding chanting and celebrating KIRTAN! Chay believes through commitment to this beautiful full practice called YOGA, one will experience transformation not only of their bodies, but also their attitudes and self-beliefs, becoming more conscious and more present in the world, spreading peace, love and mindfulness. Chay …I never thought I would take an individual yoga class but now I see how, if I were living here permanently I would add individual classes regularly. You’ve accelerated my appreciation and understanding of how I can use all aspects of yoga to heal my back. Your descriptions are just so clear. Thank you 🙂
Richard

Chay, I wanted to write and thank you for the positive experience I had practicing yoga in your classes. I went from barely able to walk out of your class (at the beginning) to now being able to achieve most of the positions. And even now, though challenging, I make the most progress.

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your class a couple of weeks ago. You are an amazing teacher!! I have always heard that many people people get emotional during yoga class but I had never experienced that until your class. I honestly do not remember everything you said, but it definately moved me. We all tend to get so wrapped up in day to day life and I am very hard on myself, often expecting too much. Whatever it was that you said made me feel so much better and reminded me how important “balance” and being “present” is. You are truly gifted:)
